The winner won a trip to San Francisco, the Mecca of the world of startups. This trip allows for the startup to compete on a global scale at The Startup World Cup Grand Finale, a global startup pitch competition consisting of 30 regional events around the world, across 6 continents. The winner at the Grand Finale will receive US $1,000,000 investment prize. There will be international business leaders as well as the top Venture Capitalists from Silicon Valley in attendance to find the next billion dollar idea. Startups will receive mentoring from these business leaders, learn how they can enhance their pitch, and get opportunity to fundraise from the top venture capitalists in Silicon Valley.
Other than the grand prize, we also had various other Pitch Competition: World Domination Tour prizes that were given to other outstanding startups.
Playkey won a trip to Helsinki to attend Slush Helsinki 2017 and the coveted opportunity to pitch onstage in the Slush Top100, alongside the best 100 startups from around the world. It doesn’t end there, they also gain access to the Startup Sauna network, one of Europe’s best and most exclusive accelerator programs.
Jumper.AI won a trip to Shanghai to attend Slush Shanghai in October 2017 and get to pitch onstage in the Slush Shanghai Pitching Competition. This is a great chance to enter China and mingle with the superstars of China’s startup ecosystem.
BAASIS ID won a trip to Tokyo to attend Slush Tokyo in March 2018 and get to pitch onstage in the Slush Top80 Pitch Contest. They can also expect to meet with the top VCs of Japan and network with the most promising startups.
Zerowaste Asia got the chance to head to London as WeWork takes them to We Labs London to immerse themselves in the London startup ecosystem. They will be able to meet and mingle with the brightest minds in WeWork’s dynamic and vibrant community.
TownWifi will be heading to an Emerging Market that presents an untouched goldmine of opportunities. Telenor is taking them to Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh or Pakistan to explore the ecosystem and pilot their product .
Other than the World Domination Tour prizes, there were some partner prizes as well.
Buddy Healthcare received a cash prize with Philips, along with the chance to be a part of their global accelerators in several key markets where they will connect with their network of top tier stakeholders, researchers and investors.
TBWA presented Tag Team with a 6 month long Brand Acceleration Program. They now have access to the best talents and minds at TBWA to build a great brand story. Afterall, your greatest asset is your brand.
FNA walked away with SGD50,000 revenue worth of processing fees from Stripe. Stripe has been at the forefront of expanding internet commerce, powering new business models, and supporting the latest platforms, from mobile marketplaces to social commerce.
