Thor Gunnarsson
Thor Gunnarsson is Co-founder and CEO of Mainframe Industries. Over two decades in the games industry, Thor has served as a business developer with studios and start-ups in San Francisco, London, Reykjavik and now Helsinki. From his stint in mobile gaming with BAFTA award-winning Ideaworks3D working on the first mobile adaptations of franchises like Final Fantasy, The Sims and Metal Gear Solid to helming Business Development at MMO developer CCP Games, Thor thrives on forging business at the intersection of technology, platform disruption and creative game development.
In 2019, Thor formed an air bridge between two of the most vibrant hubs of game development in the Nordics, co-founding Mainframe Industries with an eclectic coalition of Finnish and Icelandic game developers from the MMO, mobile and console gaming scenes. Mainframe has since grown to over 50 strong developers crafting a fresh cloud-native take on the MMO genre together with a third team in Paris led by publishing veterans from Blizzard Entertainment.
