Co-founder and Chairman of Wise. Prior to starting Wise, Taavet was director of strategy at Skype, where he’d started as its first employee. One of the World Economic Forum’s Tech Pioneers, Taavet has acted as adviser to the Prime Minister of Estonia on the digital agenda, one of the European Commission’s High Level Group of Innovators and a member of the WEF’s Europe Policy Group. He’s also a mentor and angel investor; his investments include Tweetdeck, Mendeley, OMGPOP, Property Partner, Sunrise, Improbable and Cleo.
