Stani Kulechov
Stani Kulechov is Founder and CEO of The Aave Companies, a technology company that builds open protocols, applications, and tools for Web3. The company is best known for creating the Aave Protocol, a decentralized liquidity protocol for users to supply and borrow cryptographic assets without intermediaries. In 2022, Aave launched the Lens Protocol, an open social networking protocol for content creators to implement flexible, customizable monetization strategies and form direct relationships with users.
In 2016 while in law school, he began exploring Ethereum and decentralized finance (DeFi). His vision was to create an open, transparent, and accessible system for supplying and borrowing capital governed by a decentralized community. In 2017, in his university dorm room, Stani started building the Aave Protocol and later that year, launched what became The Aave Companies. Today, Stani resides in London, where The Aave Companies is headquartered. He is an angel investor and NFT collector.
