Robyn Scott

Robyn Scott is an entrepreneur and author. She is co-founder and CEO of Apolitical, a global network for government innovation. She previously co-founded Southern African social enterprises Level Up and Mothers for All which teach entrepreneurship and aspirational tech skills to at-risk youth and women, and OneLeap, which helps the world’s leading companies be more entrepreneurial by working with experienced entrepreneurs. Her first book, Twenty Chickens for a Saddle, was an acclaimed memoir about growing up in Botswana against the AIDS epidemic. She is currently writing her second book, the true story of maximum security prisoners who adopted AIDS orphans.

Robyn is an Ambassador for the Access to Medicine Index and on the advisory board of the Responsible Mining Index and Grand Challenges Europe. She has a BSc in Bioinformatics (Distinction) from Auckland University and an MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise (Distinction) from Cambridge University, where she was a Gates Scholar. She has been named one of WIRED’s 50 People About to Change the World and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. Her work and writing have been featured in the Financial Times, the BBC, Forbes and Fast Company. She is also frequent speaker, including on the BBC, at The World Economic Forum in Davos and TEDx. For her first book, she toured the United States, Canada, and Europe. She is an investor in and advisor to a number of mission-driven technology startups.
