Manu Gupta

Manu Gupta is a partner at Lakestar. Lakestar is a global venture capital firm, having raised $550m in three years to invest in technology businesses worldwide. Lakestar has invested into market leading companies such as Spotify, Facebook, Airbnb, King.com, Klarna, Skype, Oscar Healthcare, Harry’s Shaving, as well as many earlier stage companies in the U.S. and Europe. Recent investments or board representations include Opendoor, SOFI, GoEuro, Algomi, Taulia, Aetion, Tictail, Lenda as well as historically being involved with exits of Maker Studios, BrandsExclusive, Markafoni, Casacanda, GLG, Clickon Brazil.

Prior to Lakestar, Manu was Head of the European Internet coverage effort at Goldman Sachs, covering Europe, India, and consulting for Brazil.  His career started in Silicon Valley as a Product Manager at Oracle, and coding in the first versions of Java at Sun Microsystems.

Manu received an MBA from the University of Chicago and an Honors in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) from UC Berkeley.  He’s lived in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, London & Zurich.
