In the beginning of this year, the company chose to rebrand itself in order reflect its broader solution offering. Formerly known as Faceforce and specializing in Facebook moderation, Brandbastion now offers solutions for Instagram and Youtube as well.
“We’ve had a very busy but exciting year so far,” says Jenny Wolfram.
“We started by providing Facebook moderation, as most companies were investing their advertising budgets and core social media efforts in Facebook and having a hard time dealing with the high engagement volumes their ads and posts received there. We decided that now would be a good time to expand our solution, especially considering the increasing popularity of Instagram advertising and our clients’ needs.”
This year, the San Francisco-based company will focus its efforts on continuous innovation, developing its products and services further and keeping its clients happy. According to Wolfram, recruitment is also a core focus in 2016.
“We’ve signed up many new interesting global companies. We’ve currently also got many open positions in both Finland and the US and are looking to significantly grow our team.”
While Brandbastion is growing rapidly, Wolfram has some important lessons for startups to learn from. In her speech at Slush 2015, Wolfram talked about three key points that have been essential for Brandbastion’s success:
Big companies are not the ones that automatically get the highest engagements and most visibility on social media. When you use right targeting and great content, it enables you to get great growth whether you’re a big corporation or a startup.
You should think about your competitive advantages since day one and think of how to build barriers of entry. Keep on improving your product every single day, hire the best people to your team and get the best investors on board from the start.
50 percent of people look up a company’s Facebook page rather than their website to find out more information about the company. People read and care about comments, which is why it’s important for a company to pay attention to what people are saying on their social media sites. Their perception is formed based on what they are seeing and what people are saying on the company’s site. Investing in social media moderation is therefore very essential.
Supercell recently announced impressive results for 2015. The company’s three games — Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Hay Day — generated $2.3B in revenue, and raked in $924M in total profits.
