With big names such as Supercell’s Ilkka Paananen and Mikko Kodisoja, Niklas Zennström from Atomico, Mistletoe Venture Partners International and Chairman of Nokia, Risto Siilasmaa, as well as Nordic institutional investors OP and Ilmarinen on board, Maki.vc targets a 90 million fund to support outstanding seed and early stage companies.

Maki.vc is a new chapter for Kivimäki and Pirkka Palomäki, a serial entrepreneur, private investor and advisor, whose latest company Wicom Communications was sold to SAP. Since then, he has invested in companies like Wolt, Beddit (sold to Apple), AImotive and Umbra. Kivimäki is also an active member of the Helsinki startup scene, acting as Chairman of Slush and Kasvuryhmä, Board Member of Junction and Wave Ventures as well as Founding Chairman of Finnish Startup Foundation. He is also a member of the Research and Innovation Council of Finland chaired by the Prime Minister.
First investments include Disior, Neuroevent Labs, Sumpli and Fake, ranging from 3D medtech software to service scheduling. Maki.vc are looking into making ten investments during their first operating year.
