Once the doors open, our guests may dive into the world of wonders, where music, entrepreneurship, and technology meet. Our program curators Sasu Paakkunainen and Kalle Lindroth have done an excellent job when fixing details to point out what is going on in the music scene today. Stage program goes on on our two stages – Donna Summer and James Brown – and Speaker Studio in Muu art-gallery.
The James Brown stage inside the main hall (Merikaapelihalli) is hosting the biggest keynotes, most intriguing discussions, and intensive fireside chats. On the very same stage, we’ll also get to see the opening show and hear the welcoming words on Tuesday at 10. Discussions on investing in creative industries, branding, and the blockchain, in addition to Fred Davis sharing his story on how to spot a giant like Spotify, will follow. We’ll also see Amplify’s launch and meet Stu Bergen from Warner Music Group before the closing words on Wednesday afternoon. The first day on James Brown stage will come to an end by rewarding the winning startups of Slush Music 20. During the Tuesday afterparty, James Brown becomes the house of groovy tunes played by up-and-rising young artists!
Donna Summer stage inside the Puristamo space hosts all the pitches of Slush Music 20 -competition on Tuesday in addition to some talks on monetization and gender equality. On Wednesday, the discussions deepen into the world of YouTube, creation platforms, and future instruments. Deeper and longer discussion are help in the Speaker Studio, where for example blockchain technologies, VR, and AI in music are investigated thoroughly.
The radio is build right next to Merikaapelihalli, and eight hours of live radio will be broadcasted through Radio Helsinki’s channels. The program is curated in collaboration with Radio Helsinki and Music Finland. There are four international broadcasters coming from the US and around Europe to host the show, four live music showcases representing young Finnish newcomers at 3 and 5 pm on both days, and Radio Helsinki DJs switching into their smooth tunes for the rest of the time. The radio show goes on from 10 am to 6 pm.
