Rise to the Top of Your Class – The Shortcut School of Startups

School of Startups is not a school. At least not in the traditional sense of the word. Not related to academia, yet a lot of learning. Knowledge and experience sharing comes from those who are building startups on a daily basis and the participants are ones willing and curious to get immersed in the world of startups. This hands-on approach and motivation ensures a shortcut to learning what matters the most.

The Shortcut School of Startups is a three-week series of interactive sessions, in the fields of business, design and tech. It equips participants with necessary skills and brings them closer to starting their own path either as an entrepreneur or by joining a team in this vibrant environment. The only requirements to attend are genuine interest, hunger for learning and proficient English skills.

Two bootcamps over the weekend are also part of School of Startups.

1) Business Ideation Weekend (20–21 May) with a focus on learning the process of ideation and coming up with business ideas, which can be turned into scalable businesses.

2) Digital Prototyping Weekend (3–4 June) with a focus on how can we bring an idea into life through prototyping. We are very proud to announce that the event is co-organised with Toughbyte, taking place in Techcode’s premises and sponsored by SUPERCELL.

In addition to all the learnings, there are amazing prizes awaiting the participants: Slush conference tickets, Junction tickets, 1:1 coaching sessions with various tech influencers and mentors, and a co-working space for startups. Sign up for Shortcut events  HERE.

Startup founders generously donate their time and expertise pro-bono, to make this event free of charge for participants. They are rock stars from companies such as Supercell, Yousician, Nosto, Yogaia, smartly.io, Leadfeeder, Microsoft, Growth Rebel, Kieku.io, Ukko, Solu, HMD, Grib, Toughbyte and Techcode. We also count on the support from the makers of Slush, Startup Sauna, Junction, Vertical, Founder Institute, Ultrahack, Maria 0-1 Inventure, Courage Ventures, Avance, Arctic Startups, Aalto Startup Centre and Microsoft coaches.

About The Shortcut

Our mission is to inspire and empower people from diverse backgrounds to take an active role in (re)building their future, using technology and entrepreneurship. We actively work towards lowering the barrier to participation for more people to join the startup community and optimizing under-utilised skills.

The main criterion for participating is ATTITUDE: if you are curious about technology and entrepreneurship, you are welcome to join our movement.

We are a non-profit, community driven organization under Startup Foundation, i.e. a sister organization to Slush and Startup Sauna. Together with our partners, The Shortcut provides inspiration, networks, knowledge and skills to enable new talents and new startups.
