Slush and Junction are on a mission to fill the gap by building a bridge between the companies on a hunt for the best tech talent and the bright developers looking for the best possible fit for their skills. This is where Hack Tour comes to the rescue.
Introducing Hack Tour
Hack Tour is a comprehensive tech trip to Helsinki, intended to collect the brightest European tech-heads to Helsinki and match them with the startups attending Slush during the Slush week. During the Slush week, we’ll provide the participants with the access to Slush, a number of company excursions, dinners, and exclusive gatherings. Sounds good? Keep on reading!
Hack Tour Pre-Events – Your Best Chance to Get Accepted
During the fall, Slush and Junction will organize pre-events in eight European cities, where attending participants will get to know both Slush and Junction, and learn more about the actual program. In each city, we challenge tech-savvy people to spend the afternoon with us and compete in the challenges and cases we present. The best of the best might very well walk away with tickets to Helsinki, as there is a possibility to gain access directly to Hack Tour (Dec 3–7) and Junction (Nov 23–25) from these pre-events.
Junction’s events are meant for everyone interested in creating through technology. Hacking can be done in several different ways: this year, Junction has incorporated both design and programming challenges into our workshops and competitions.
The real impact always lies within the community: we are honored to be doing these pre-events with a bunch of friends from all over Europe.
Slush x Junction = ?
Junction and Slush both got their start from an entrepreneurship society active in the Aalto University. The society, better known as Aaltoes, was the ideological spark behind both events – and many more communities revolving around entrepreneurship and tech. It remains as the glue between the two even today. Both organizations have come a long way since their inception, and these days, both are self-sufficient entities running operations fully by themselves. What remains as the common denominator between the two is the shared goal of striving for a positive impact on the tech ecosystem, not only in the Nordics but globally. Hack Tour brings the two Finnish powerhouses together to act as matchmakers for Europe’s talented techies and Finnish companies.
So why do this together? Europe’s largest hackathon Junction reaches a huge crowd of tech talent globally and provides new challenges and opportunities for developers. Together with Junction, Slush can best connect their immense network of startups to Junction’s developers. The matchmaking capability created by combining these two is beyond comparison in Europe.
Our Vision For Hack Tour
Data we preach, from data we learn. That’s the approach we are taking with Hack Tour. Will everything go as planned, we’re aiming to make it an annual program, scaling it to our global events in Tokyo, Shanghai, and Singapore.
