Blok, the virtual real estate agent automating apartment sales, was founded by Rudi Skogman – one of the early Slushers – shortly after he sold his own Helsinki apartment. The apartment sold quickly, being the awesome, well-located pad it was. Still, there was one thing that really bothered Skogman afterwards: the 3.75% fee his real estate broker charged for doing the mundane tasks, such as taking pictures of the apartment and being present during the showings. Based on this experience, Skogman came up with an idea.
Now, a few years later, Skogman is a founder of Blok: a virtual real estate agent, which uses AI to do everything what the real estate brokers would do – only more efficiently. It takes care of it all: photos, documents, and valuation. And what’s best? They only take 0.75% fee on the sales price!
Ever since its launch, Blok has sold more than a hundred apartments in Helsinki and has recently landed €1.6M in seed funding from the likes of Bonnier and Lifeline Ventures. What we at Slush are extremely happy to tell you is that Skogman met his investors at Slush 2017, using the Slush Matchmaking Tool. Way to make us proud!
