Since its inception in 2008, Singularity University has empowered individuals from more than 85 countries to apply exponentially growing technologies, such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence and neuroscience, to address humanity’s grand challenges: education, energy, environment, food, health, poverty, security, space and water. In just six years, Singularity University’s alumni, partners and members have generated more than 100 startups, and numerous patents and ideas to help advance this mission.
Nicholas Haan, Director of Global Grand Challenges and Team Project Leader at Singularity University, has worked at the intersection of science, technology, social challenges for the last 25 years. Nicholas will take the stage at Slush to give a keynote on how exponential technologies can be applied to address the world’s biggest problems. You don’t want to miss this talk!
Juha Koponen is an entrepreneur with a passion to offer people new options to live in an environmentally sustainable way. He is CEO of Swap.com, the company that lets parents swap, buy or sell used children items like clothing, toys and sports gear. Juha will share how his company turns consignment of kids’ items into a simple and enjoyable online experience.
Eniram creates and installs an optimization platform onboard vessels that collects data from ship automation and navigation systems and uses it to advise the crew on how to best sail their ship. Henrik Dahl, co-founder of this incredible Finnish company, will explain how Eniram’s analytics help make giant shipping business cleaner and greener.
