Held during the darkest time of the year in Helsinki, Finland, Slush has always been characterized by a unique energy and enthusiasm. The very core of Slush is to facilitate founder and investor meetings and to build a world-wide startup community.
Slush is a student-driven, non-profit movement originally founded to change attitudes toward entrepreneurship. In 2018, Slush will be organized in Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore and Helsinki.Get your pass
Think of Slush as a collision of a festival and a conference. It’s not a business, but a community of people who love what they do.
Slush is run by the youth who want to make a difference in their societies. Several successful entrepreneurs such as Niklas Zennström (Skype & Atomico), Taizo Son (GungHo), Ilkka Paananen (Supercell), and Risto Siilasmaa (Nokia) among others, have already become a part of the non-profit initiative that is radically changing how entrepreneurship is perceived in Northern Europe, Japan, and China.JOIN THE NAVY
Slush wants to leave the world better than we found it, and so sustainability is a core part of how Slush operates.
Slush is an EkoKompassi/EcoCompass certified event, and this is just the start. Whether it is reducing our environmental footprint by using only tap water and biodegradable disposables, promoting diversity and equality in recruiting for social inclusiveness, or by using only green electricity for our event, we set the bar high for minimizing the harm we do while amplifying the good.
Over the past seven years, Slush has grown from a 300-person gathering to become a global community organizing more than 75 events with +40,000 attendees all around the world. Each city and each community adds its own local flavour to the global network. Be it the cherry blossoms of Japan or the rhythms of Jamaica, we always like to throw some spices into the mix of entrepreneurs and tech.
In addition to our global community events in Helsinki, Tokyo, Shanghai and Singapore, Slush is expanding rapidly to other parts of the world. We co-organize events together with the most prominent startup hubs across all continents.Global Impact Accelerator Europe Nordics
A global gathering of 20,000 tech-heads doesn’t come together without a few flights, planks of wood and a whole lot of food, drinks and good times. Carbon emissions make up a big portion of our environmental impact, which is why in 2018 Slush is offsetting 10,000 tonnes of CO2 with the help of Fortum. These offsets cover at least the emissions from the Slush event, our attendees’ flights, hotel stays, and meals, as well as Slush’s year-round activities.
Powered by CHOOOSE, the chosen offsetting project is a thin film solar power project in India and will create environmental benefits, improve employment and business opportunities, and help in testing out the sustainably important thin film solar technology.
