Coming from a small city in China, Pocket Sun was an unsophisticated teenager who stepped out of her comfort zone and moved to Virgina in the United States for her university studies. She had very little knowledge about the world outside China, even ordering a sandwich from Subway was tedious for her.
Coming from a family which had literally no background in entrepreneurship, she defied all conventional pre-notions that women could never make a name for themselves in this industry. Pocket Sun is not your everyday entrepreneur, with extensive experience working with startups and corporations across China, US, and Southeast Asia.
Her impressive portfolio does not simply stop there. In 2016, she founded She Power Organization in Shanghai aspiring to build the largest network for C-suite level women leaders across various industries. She defies all perceptions that Millennials are generally linked with traits such as laziness, lack of perseverance and a generation that is not willing to take the leap of faith and challenge themselves for the better.
Today, she is the proud founder of SoGal Ventures, the 1st cross-border venture capital firm led by female millennials invests in world-class diverse founding teams that redefine how the next generation millennials live. This vision has helped to successfully impact 50,000 female entrepreneurs in over 30 countries and she has built a community of 4000 female entrepreneurs and investors in more than 20 countries, including Singapore, China, and the U.S. Entering the era of “The Fourth Industrial Revolution”, Pocket Sun has clearly shown the world that Millennials do have the conviction in them, courage to challenge convention and strive to make a name for themselves in this ever-challenging environment.
Pocket Sun’s goals and vision were acknowledged by Linkedin when she was selected as one of Linkedin’s Top Voices of 2015 for empowering female entrepreneurs. In addition, she has appeared in many prestigious conferences to provide talks and such as Microsoft CEO Summit, Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit and TEDx.
