At Slush 2023, the winner of Slush 100 got an equity investment from the leading early-stage funds in Europe: Accel, General Catalyst, Lightspeed Venture Partners, NEA, and Northzone.

These iconic funds have backed historic companies like Meta, Stripe, Airbnb, Snap, Uber, Spotify, Salesforce, Instacart, and Klarna.

HANDS-ON MENTORING FROM INDUSTRY LEADERS

The startups accepted into the top 20 got hands-on sparring sessions with company founders and mentoring from experts from the startup ecosystem. This included, for example, a pitch deck workshop from Harry Stebbings of 20VC.

FAQ

Who can apply?

Any startup that has been incorporated during or after 2020 and has raised less than €750,000 in equity fundraising can apply. The funds are looking for startups from Europe and North America.

What is the main prize?

The winner of the Slush 100 competition got €1,000,000 equity investment from Accel, General Catalyst, Lightspeed, NEA, and Northzone during Slush 2023.

When is the deadline to apply?

Applications have yet to open, so deadline will be revealed later in the year.

How do I apply?

Applications will open later in the year, and this webpage will have the relevant information for you to apply.

Do I need to have a ticket to Slush to compete?

You do not need a ticket to Slush 2023 to apply for Slush 100, however if chosen for the top 100, you will have to purchase a Slush 2023 startup pass to take part in the rest of the competition. Slush 2024 takes place in Helsinki, Finland on Nov 20—21.

Who chooses the winner?

The initial top 100 are chosen by the Slush team. After this, the VC funds choose the top 50, top 20, top 3 and the final winner.

Due Diligence processes will be present throughout the entire competition process becoming increasingly comprehensive towards the final winner announcement.

Is Slush doing Due Diligence (DD) in the competition?

Yes. Slush has partnered up with international law firm Dottir to be the official Due Diligence and Legal Partner for the entirety of the competition.

What is the process like for the competition?

Applications will be used to pick the top 100, pitch decks to pick the top 50, and online pitch videos to pick the top 20. After that, the semifinal will be hosted on the Startup Studio stage at Slush, followed by the legendary finals on the Slush main stage.

In addition to this, chosen startups will be answering Due Diligence questions to join the top 20 and Dottir will be drafting legal Due Diligence reports for the top 3 to support with decision making.
