Around the world, Slush is known for its venue that every time delivers the vibrant atmosphere. This year, it’s no different. Even though the theme is about celebrating the unknown, we wanted you to know something – here’s a sneak peek into next week.
With every passing year, new products and startups startups have emerged, spurring revolutionary technologies and trends. Jenni Kääriäinen from Sun Effects, the Lead Designer at Slush, has made sure to match her work with the continuously evolving event: “We always start the next project questioning even the very basics. Each Slush has to be a unique experience adapting to a different culture, time and situation.”
Kääriäinen takes into consideration that Slush Tokyo should be differentiated from its counterparts in Helsinki, Shanghai and Singapore. “For me, Tokyo has a totally different culture compared to anywhere else. Japanese aesthetics are more gentle and detailed than for example European”, she ponders.
Keeping the focus on startups, which is similar to all events around the world, has been maintained in the design. As Kääriäinen interprets this year’s theme, celebrating the unknown, it stresses the importance of originality and creativity: “It’s keeping the mind open and being brave with the truth ‘I don’t know yet where we’re going, or what will happen.’”
