Published at Slush in November, the State of European Tech report will give the most comprehensive, data-driven overview of the current state of European tech, exploring the themes that impact the tech ecosystem the most including talent, capital, and the strength of tech communities. More importantly, it confronts the myth that successful startups and technology only exist in Silicon Valley by providing each of us with country-specific and ecosystem-wide data that helps all of us tackle this gross misconception.
“Seeing increasing investment from big Silicon Valley firms like Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins just proves what we Europeans have known for a long time. That it is not only possible to build and scale world beating companies from Europe, but that we’ve already been doing it for some time and every year we get better and better at it,” states Taavet Hinrikus, Founder and CEO of Transferwise, in the 2016 report.
The survey will revisit some of the findings from last year, and dives into the developments in European tech ecosystem. Making sure the survey is as representative of the tech ecosystem as possible is critical to driving better policy decisions, talent, capital, potential acquirers and other opportunities towards Europe. Thus, we encourage tech hubs around Europe to participate and get the voice of their community heard!
