You might have seen some places lighted up with neon pink lights during the week in Helsinki city center. Wondered what it’s all about? It’s called Paint Helsinki.
Slush has grown super fast year after year, and this year it’s been so huge, that it kind of grew out from the borders of Convention Centre. When planning the event for 2017, we came up with an idea to light up the dark, cold and slushy Helsinki and bring the vibes experienced in Slush also on the streets of the city outside of the event venue. This idea turned into a project carrying the name “Paint Helsinki”, and was executed in cooperation with MyHelsinki.
During the Slush week, some of the sights in Helsinki central area, such as City Hall, Temppeliaukio Church, Allas Sea Pool, Kalevankatu where the Founders’ Street took place and the club complex of Kuudes Linja and Kaiku, were light up using led lights, painting them with neon colors.
This year we’ve also had a Slush bus taking Slush visitors from city center to Convention Centre and other way around. If you still have a chance tonight, hop into the bus and experience real disco vibes already on the way to the destination.
Some spots are still “painted” tonight. We hope you enjoy these art pieces! In case you missed these, don’t worry! There will be more material coming later on.
